WORLD RECORD : Bihar’s Sakibul Gani Creates World Record With Triple Century On First-Class Debut

Bihar’s 22-year-old batter Sakibul Gani etched his name on the history books by breaking the record for the highest individual score by a cricketer on first-class debut.

Becoming the first batter to score a triple hundred on first-class debut, Gani amassed 341 runs off just 405 balls with the help of 56 fours and 2 sixes in a Ranji Trophy Plate Group match against Mizoram at Jadavpur University Campus 2nd Ground in Kolkata on Friday.

He maintained a strike rate of 84.20.

India reaches Landmark and Becomes the 2nd Team to Win 100 matches in T20I’s Mens’ Cricket – February 18th, 2022

India beat the West Indies in a thrilling second T20I at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Friday night to take a 2-0 unassailable lead in the three-match T20I series.

The victory helped India become only the second team after Pakistan to win 100 T20Is in men’s cricket.

India have played a total of 155 matches, winning 100 (including Super Over wins), losing 51 and 4 no results.

Pakistan have played 189 T20Is and have registered 118 victories. India (65.23 per cent) incidentally have a better win percentage than Pakistan (64.4 per cent).

‘Medharam Jathara’ – Asia’s Largest Tribal Festival celebrated in Telangana. February 16th, 2022

The celebrations of the First Day of the auspicious and much-awaited biennial “Medaram Jathara” commenced on the 16th of February 2022 as the arrival of Saralamma on to the ‘Medaram Gaddhe’ (Platform) was undertaken by the Koya Tribe of Telangana.

Medaram Jatara is the second-largest fair of India, after the Kumbh Mela, celebrated by the second-largest Tribal Community of Telangana- the Koya tribe for four days.

As the largest tribal fair in Asia, Medaram Jathara is conducted in honour of the Goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma. It is celebrated once in two years in the month of ‘Magha’ (February) on the full moon day. Saralamma was the daughter of Sammakka. Her idol, according to the rituals, is installed in a temple at Kannepalli, a small village near Medaram.

Discovery. New Species of Primate, White Cheeked Macaque Discovered in Arunachal Pradesh

A group of scientists from Zoological Survey of India (ZSI) has discovered a new species of primate, White Cheeked Macaque, from Arunachal Pradesh.

After extensive survey, we have multiple evidences that includes two skin samples and a juvenile White Cheeked Macaque that was found in the house of a local villager that confirms our discovery,” ZSI scientist Mukesh Thakur, who led the study said.

He added that ZSI will not only push for its inclusion in Wildlife Protection Act but will take up long term monitoring to demarcate its distribution boundary and population size.”It is very rare in present days when a mammal species is discovered. The discovery of smaller animals like amphibians and insects are quite common,” Thakur said.

The discovery has been published in the international journal “Animal Gene.”

The 16-year-old from Gujarat, who became the first Indian woman shuttler to claim the world no. 1 status in u-19 singles, beat second seed Susato 21-11, 11-21, 21-7 in 51 minutes.

En route to the title, Tasnim defeated Iran’s Nazanin Zamani, Armenia’s Lilit Poghosyan, Iran’s Fatemeh Babaei, India’s Samayara Panwar before outwitting top seed and World Number 71 Martina Repiska in the semifinals.

India’s Second Highest National Flag Hosted at 10,000 ft Altitude in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh

The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Peema Khandu hosted the 104-ft tall national flag at the Nganga Natme (Buddha Park) a Buddhist pilgrimage town bordering China, on February 04th, 2022.

it is India’s second-highest national flat at the altitude of 10,000 feet

The feat was accomplished by the ‘Sashastra Seema Bal, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, the Tawang District Administration and MLA Tsering Tashi.

PR Sreejesh becomes the First Indian Man to Win the ‘World Games Athlete of the Year 2021’ Award

India’s veteran Indian field hockey Goal Keeper PR Sreejesh wins the award of ‘World Games Athlete of the year 2021.

Winning this makes Kerala’s PR Sreejesh the First Indian Man to Win this honour.

Sreejesh beat competition from sport climber Alberto Gins Lopez of Spain and Italy’s wushu player Michele Giordano for the award.
