India captain Jasprit Bumrah bludgeoned a hapless Stuart Broad for 29 runs to create a world record for maximum runs off a single over in Test cricket, beating the legendary Brian Lara’s feat by one run.

The world record stayed with Lara for 18 years — he had hit South African left-arm spinner Robin Peterson for 28 runs in a Test match in 2003-04, which included four fours and two sixes off six legal deliveries.

INTERNATIONAL RECORDS: ASIA, SPORTS – WRESTLING : Indian Wrestlers Clinch 8 Medals in the Men’s ‘U-15 Asian Wrestling Championship, Bahrain’

The Indian Under-15 Greco Roman Wrestling Team clinched two gold, two silver and four bronze medals in the Under-15 Asian Wrestling Championship being held at Bahrain.

On Saturday bouts in all 10 weight categories of Greco Roman Style were held and India clinched a total of 8 medals.

The medal winners are, Sachin in the 68 kg, while Abhay in the 72 kg bagged gold medals in their respective categories.

While Pranay Choudhary bagged silver in 52 kg and Varun Kumar in 62 kg category. Varun Sonkar (38 kg), Aditya Kumar (48 kg), Tushar Patil (57 kg) and Hardeep (85 kg) bagged bronze medals in their respective categories.

Iran clinched Asia Title with 205 Points while Kazakhstan was runner-up with 192 Points and India secured 3rd place as they gained 172 Points.

On Sunday bouts in all 10 weight categories of women’s wrestling will be held.

Mrs. Dechamma is currently a home maker. She is a former student of Rotary English Medium School Moodbidri and also was the student of the first batch. 

She further continued her high school an PU education at Jain highschool and PU college Moodbidri.

She pursued her graduation at Sri Bhuvanendra College Karkala where she won Miss. Bhuvanendra in 1997 and Miss. Jaycee Kulyadi queen, Karlala in 1998.

She was born in Coorg but was raised in Moodbidri.

GLOBAL RECORDS: INNOVATION & INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, TELANGANA : The World’s Largest Innovation Campus ‘T-Hub’/ T-Works/ and IMAGE Tower’ Takes Shape in India’s Hyderabad City

There will be 2.3 million sq ft built-up space in the 18-acre campus : KTR

Technology start-up incubator T-Hub, prototyping centre T-Works and the IMAGE Tower focused on multimedia, animation, gaming and entertainment will constitute the world’s largest innovation campus in Hyderabad.

Totally, there will be 2.3 million sq ft built-up space that will be developed in the 18-acre campus in the heart of the city’s IT Hub. “I see this panning out over the next 18-24 months,” IT and Industries Minister K.T. Rama Rao said in an interaction after Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao inaugrated the new, second phase building of T-Hub on Tuesday.

The T-Hub facility, with a built-up space of 5.8 lakh sq ft, is one component of the campus. “There is T-Works, India’s largest prototyping facility, which will be inaugurated in August,” he said.

INDIA RECORDS: FOOD, MARINE & SEAFOOD: Andhra Pradesh at National No.1 with Record Seafood Exports Exceeding ₹20k crore, Highest in Country with the US Being the Leading Importer.

3.24 lakh metric tonnes was shipped to the US, China and EU in 2021, according to officals.

Andhra Pradesh stood top in the country in seafood exports by shipping 3.24 lakh metric tonnes of shrimp, fish and other items during the 2021-22 financial year. The total exports of seafood from India was about 13,69,264 metric tonnes.

The value of the seafood exports from the State was about ₹20,019 crore, said Marine Products Export Development Authority’s (MPEDA) Andhra Pradesh Joint Director A. Jeyabal.

The contribution of the State in the country’s overall exports was 23.66% in quantity and 34.76% in terms of value, the Joint Director said.

“In 2020-21, India had exported 11,49,510 metric tonnes of seafood worth ₹43,720 crore ($5,956 million). In 2021-22, marine products of about 13,69,264 metric tonnes, valued at ₹57,586 crore ($7.76 billion) were shipped,” Mr. Jeyabal told The Hindu on Wednesday.

According to overseas shipment data, the US continued to be the major importer of Indian seafood, followed by China, the European Union, South-east Asia, and Japan as the other major customers.

“From Andhra Pradesh, frozen shrimp, frozen fish, squid, cuttlefish, dried items and other varieties were exported,” the JD said.

WORLD RECORDS : INDIA, POPULATION: India’s Urban Population at 2nd Highest, to Stand at 675 million in 2035, Behind China’s 1 billion: United Nations (U.N.)-Habitat’s World Cities Report 2022

By 2035, the percentage of population in India at mid-year residing in urban area will be 43.2%, the U.N. said in a report.

India’s urban population is estimated to stand at 675 million in 2035, the second-highest behind China’s one billion, the U.N. has said in a report, noting that after the COVID-19 pandemic, the global urban population is back on track to grow by another 2.2 billion by 2050.

The United Nations-Habitat’s World Cities Report 2022, released on Wednesday, said that rapid urbanisation was only temporarily delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The global urban population is back on track to grow by another 2.2 billion people by 2050, it said.

India’s urban population is projected to be 67,54,56,000 in 2035, growing from 48,30,99,000 in 2020 to 54,27,43,000 in 2025 and 60,73,42,000 in 2030, the report said.

By 2035, the percentage of population in India at mid-year residing in urban area will be 43.2%, it said.

China’s urban population in 2035 is projected at 1.05 billion while the urban population in Asia will be 2.99 billion in 2035 and that in South Asia 98,75,92,000 it said.

INDIA RECORDS : ARACHNOLOGY: New species of Jumping Spider ‘Pseudomogrus Sudhii’ from the Thar desert is named after Sudhikumar A.V., Arachnologist, Head of Dept of Zoology, Christ College, Kerala and Founder of Centre for Animal Taxonomy and Ecology (CATE).

Pseudomogrus sudhii inhabits dry glass blades of the desert.

A new species of spider discovered from the Thar desert of Rajasthan has been named after a Malayalee arachnologist.

The new species of jumping spider, Pseudomogrus sudhii, has been named after Sudhikumar A.V., Head, Department of Zoology, Christ College, Irinjalakuda, and founder of the Centre for Animal Taxonomy and Ecology (CATE) in recognition of his contributions to the field of Indian arachnology.

The jumping spider was discovered during a joint exploration by Dmitri Logunov (curator, Manchester Museum, The University of Manchester, UK), Rishikesh Balkrishna Tripathi and Ashish Kumar Jangid of Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun.

INTERNATIONAL RECORDS : ASIA, SWIMMING: India Bags 5 Medals. 4 Gold Medals in the Mens for Srihari Nataraj, Mihir Ambre, Aneesh Gowda & Sridhar Siva. In the Women’s Maana Patel Walks away with Silver at the 17th Singapore National Swimming Championships

Olympian Srihari Nataraj, Mihir Ambre and Aneesh Gowda won golds in the 17 th Singapore National swimming championships here on Thursday.

National record holder Nataraj clocked 55.32s for the 100m backstroke gold while Ambre produced a personal best 24.66s for the 50m butterfly title. Meanwhile, Gowda won the 800m freestyle gold in 8:14.08s.

In the women’s section, Olympian and national record holder Maana Patel bagged the 100m backstroke silver.

Then, true to form, the Singapore-born, Adelaide-based chef headed straight from the five-star kitchen to Chennai’s popular Erode Amman Mess for his own dinner. “It was fantastic,” he says, “When it comes to flavour there are so many great places to eat in this city.”

With roots in Tamil Nadu, including grandparents who came from Madurai, he has chosen to launch his restaurant, Pandan Club, in Chennai.

A post on his Instagram profile, which has 1,29,000 followers, announcing openings for kitchen personnel resulted in a storm of resumes: many from fans and amateur cooks.

INDIA RECORDS: AVIATION: First Aircraft of India’s Newest Airline ‘Akasa Air’ a Boeing 737 MAX Lands at Delhi Airport after Long Ride from Seattle. 71 More to Follow in Time.

Flying all the way from Seattle in the United States, India’s newest airline Akasa Air’s first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft touched down at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Tuesday.(June 21).

“The arrival of our first aircraft is a very happy moment for all of us & marks an important milestone, bringing us closer to our vision of building India’s greenest, most dependable, and most affordable airline,” said Vinay Dube, founder, managing director & chief executive officer, Akasa Air.

It was only last week the airline took delivery of its first 737 Max aircraft from Boeing in Seattle.

In November 2021, Akasa had inked a $9 billion deal with the US-based aircraft major to purchase 72 MAX planes, which includes an initial delivery of 18 aircraft by March 2023 and the remaining 54 aeroplanes in the next four years.

These planes will be powered by the fuel-efficient CFM LEAP B engine.
