India’s First Nobel Prize Winner in Physics. 1930 .

Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman (Sir C.V. Raman) was awarded the Nobel in 1930,  for his work on the scattering of light and for the discovery effect named after him. This phenomenon is now called the ‘Raman scattering’ and is the result of the ‘Raman effect’.  1930 .
